First Communion Class

SHPC’s First Communion Classes are held in the fall and spring of each year.  Children, grades 2nd through 5th grades, with at least one parent meet in the Sanctuary for the class.  Rev. Mark Lampley and Rev. Rachel Hamburger will lead the class and reinforce the importance and special meaning of the Lord’s Supper.  All past participants are welcome to attend!  Contact the church office at 522-9804 for more information.

 Family Advent Workshop

Join us for our Annual Family Advent Workshop held the the last Sunday in November.  As we prepare for the coming Advent season, families gather to decorate the Barron Hall Christmas tree, share a casual meal, and create wonderful crafts of this joyous Advent season.   Contact the church office at 522-9804 for more information!

Five O’clock Christmas Eve Service

Our five o’clock Christmas Eve Service is a casual service where the children are encouraged to be involved in a live Nativity Scene.  We are ask the children to come to this service in the costume of their choice- Angel, Barn Animal, Shepherd, or Wise Man.  These costumes do not have to be elaborate, and we try to have several spare costume pieces at the belltower entrance for ones who would like to borrow!   During the service when it is time for your child to come forward, they are to walk up to the front and we will place them where they need to be (the speaker will direct when it is time for each group).  This interactive service is a wonderful way for our children to actually be a part of the retelling of our Savior’s birth!  Contact the church office at 522-9804 for more information!

SHPC’s Church and Community Easter Egg Hunt

Our Easter Egg Hunt usually falls on the afternoon of Palm Sunday from 3-5.  Each child is asked to bring  a dozen eggs fulled with nut-free candy or treats.  At the this wonderful Spring event, children enjoy face painting, egg coloring, games, balloon animals, a small petting zoo, cookies and lemonade, and of course an egg hunt.   Contact the church office at 522-9804 for more information.

Vacation Bible School

Each year SHPC has Vacation Bible School the first full week in June.  Our Chapel and Spitzer Education Building are decorated for this exciting week of learning and fellowship with church and community children ages four years through fourth grade.   Contact the church office at 522-9804 for more information or if you are interested in volunteering for this wonderful week of excitement and fun!
