Visitor Information

Inwardly strong, outwardly focused.

Sequoyah Hills Presbyterian Church is constantly renewed by the gifts and energies of new people who are seeking a strong spiritual foundation and a vitality that comes from faith in Jesus Christ. Our church has been actively involved in Christ’s work in the greater Knoxville community and beyond for over 60 years   We are a family of open-minded disciples of God who desire to grow daily in our faith and reliance in Him, and ultimately want to make a difference in the world.

What Should I Expect When I Come to Sequoyah Church?

We invite you to worship with us every Sunday at 8:30 a.m. and  11:00 a.m. in our Sanctuary.  We follow a liturgical calendar and use a printed bulletin as a part of our worship experience.  We praise God through traditional hymns along with our beautiful pipe organ, and a concert piano.   The Adult Chancel Choir leads worship at the 11:00 a.m. service.

During special seasons (Advent and Lent), we occasionally bring in gifted musicians who share their talent with the congregation.

What Should I Wear?

On Sunday mornings, you will see everything from business casual to suit and ties.  We like to think that what we wear on the outside is a reflection of our reverent love and humility before the Lord on the inside.

No matter what you are wearing, please know that you are sincerely welcome here!

What If I Have Questions on Sunday Morning?

At each worship service, you are encouraged to speak with an usher who can provide you with more information and who can  answer any questions you may have.   If you are unable to speak with an usher, you are encouraged to contact any of the committee members listed below.

Do You Offer a Contemporary Worship Service?

Periodically we offer a contemporary Music and Praise Service in the Chapel following our Wednesday night dinner.  This is a casual, “come as you are”, family-friendly service.  Children are always welcome, but there is childcare available in the Spitzer Building for those who need it.  These services are generally designed to compliment a particular spiritual season in the life of the church.

All ages are welcome!  Come as  you are!
