assessing and helping with physical and mental health needs of the congregation and community--complementing spiritual help of other parts of the church;
serving as liaison between members with needs and available services within the community, also perhaps between members and their physicians, if they have no one local to help them understand directions, risks, tests, and other medical options;
newsletter information about health, including nutrition, smoking cessation, heart health, exercise, balance, dealing with the medical system, prescription drugs and OTC supplements, maybe family communication, support for caregivers, recommended tests, care, and vaccinations for various stages of life;
