Prayer Groups

Monday Morning Prayer Group

Did you know that the Monday morning prayer group has been in existence since 1948,which was also the same year that the Presbyterian Women met for the first time? Thefirst group came together to pray for their sons and others who were involved in theKorean Emergency (as it was then called). From that time forward, there has been a smallgroup who gather faithfully each Monday morning to prayers for the concerns of thechurch. Dottie Dent, who is in the present group, has been a participant since 1953. Thegroup now consists of six women who meet from 11:00 a.m.—12:00 p.m. in the ReceptionRoom.

The prayer group would love to have anyone who is willing to pray (either out loud orsilently) to join them as SHPC enters into this exciting new era in the life of the church.

God’s faithfulness to this church through the years is clearly evident, and SHPC surelyneeds His continuing guidance and wisdom.

Please call Mary Alice Tucker or Barbara McWilliams if you have any questions.

“For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.” (Matthew18:20)
