SHPC Guildelines for In-Person Worship
Friends, we are glad you are considering worshiping in person at SHPC again. We realize that many are eager to do so, so we thank you for your patience, understanding, and flexibility as we try to balance our Spirit-led desire to gather to praise the Lord with our responsibility to show care for each other in taking some precautions as we gather for worship. Below are a few things that you can expect as you gather for worship, as well as what would be expected of you.

Attending In-Person Worship
8:30 Worship will be in Barron Hall.
Please register online by using the button at the bottom of this form. By registering you are confirming that you have not had contact (greater than 10 minutes exposed less than 6 feet apart) with someone who has tested positive to COVID-19 in the past 14 days, you have not traveled internationally, and that you do not have any of the following symptoms that is not attributable to another condition: cough, shortness of breath, or at least two of these symptoms: fever, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell.
11:00 Worship will be held in the Sanctuary.
While SHPC continues to follow COVID-19 protocol, including appropriate spacing, room has been available at the 11:00 am service. In order to maintain the safety of all who attend, we will ask you to register either online or in person. By registering online using the button at the bottom of this form, you will speed up the seating process. Otherwise, you will have the opportunity to register at the door. By registering you are confirming that you have not had contact (greater than 10 minutes exposed less than 6 feet apart) with someone who has tested positive to COVID-19 in the past 14 days, you have not traveled internationally, and that you do not have any of the following symptoms that is not attributable to another condition: cough, shortness of breath, or at least two of these symptoms: fever, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell.
The glass doors at the back of the Sanctuary will be the only entry and exit available. These doors will open at 10:45 a.m. Registration check-in and question screening will be located outside these doors. Please have your mask on once you reach this area.
Illness & Screening
8:30 and 11:00 Worship Services: If you are sick or exhibiting symptoms, have had contact (more than 10 minutes exposed less than 6 feet apart) with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days, or have traveled internationally, please stay home and worship via livestream instead.
11:00 Worship Service: All individuals will be asked the screening questions listed in the In-Person Worship/Registration information.
For 8:30 and 11:00 Worship Services: Please observe social distancing at all times by maintaining a 6-foot distance from others. Please refrain from hugging, shaking hands, high fives, fist bumps, or any other form of close contact.
Individuals over 65 or with any type of compromised immune system are encouraged to continue utilizing our livestream.
11:00 Worship: The restrooms in the hallway between the Sanctuary and Spitzer Education Building will open in the case of an emergency. We suggest you do as your mother always said and go before you leave home. All areas except the Sanctuary and the restrooms noted above will be unavailable. Water fountains, coffee pots/Keurigs, and doughnuts will also be unavailable.
The areas utilized on Sunday mornings will be deep-cleaned every week.
Children & Students
Please refer to the Christian Formation page for the most recent information on gatherings.
Childcare during worship is available. Separate registration is required for each child by clicking on the link under Latest Information found on the home page. Children of all ages are also welcome to remain with their households for the duration of the worship service.
8:30 and 11:00 Worship: Masks are required for both Services and must be worn at all times. We will have a limited supply for those who are unable to provide their own. Children under 3 are not required to wear a mask.
Sanctuary, Seating & Service
8:30 and 11:00 Worship: For those worshiping in person, please use “indoor voices” while wearing your mask for everyone’s safety.
8:30 Worship: Please bring a lawn chair(s) or blanket(s) with you to the Service, remembering that your household should be at least six feet from any other household.
11:00 Worship: The balcony will be closed. To maintain social distancing, every other pew will be closed. Bulletins will be located in each available pew. Once you have chosen an available pew, please remain where you are seated. Ushers will dismiss by rows to allow for proper distancing.
Please do not congregate once you have left a Worship Service.
