Mission Trips

Our congregation is deeply committed to global mission through two annual trips to Panajachel, Guatemala, in partnership with Porch de Salomon. Each February, a team travels for a Medical Mission Trip, offering care, support, and compassionate presence alongside local leaders to meet tangible health needs in the community. Then in June, we return for a Construction Trip, working hand-in-hand with residents on building homes that improve daily life and strengthen long-term relationships. These trips are not just about service, but about mutual transformation—learning from our Guatemalan neighbors while sharing Christ’s love in meaningful, practical ways.

Closer to home, we also engage in stateside mission opportunities throughout the year. This October, we will send a team to London, Kentucky to assist communities impacted by Hurricane Helene, partnering with Presbyterian Disaster Assistance. Through cleanup, rebuilding, and presence, we seek to bring hope and healing in the wake of disaster.

Whether across the globe or within our own region, our mission efforts reflect a calling to serve, rebuild, and walk alongside others in times of need.

    Sequoyah Hills Outreach

Our Neighborhood Connections Team is dedicated to loving and serving right where we are in the Sequoyah Hills neighborhood, building relationships through simple acts of presence and hospitality. Throughout the year, our members help prepare for the Knoxville Marathon as it winds through the neighborhood, pass out water bottles at the community’s Labor Day picnic, and joyfully connect with families by handing out over 700 bags of popcorn to nearly 1,000 trick-or-treaters each October. In December, we host a festive hot chocolate bar at the neighborhood Christmas tree lighting, creating a warm and welcoming space for all who attend. As we continue to grow this ministry, we’re inviting anyone who lives in Sequoyah Hills to consider joining the Neighborhood Connections Team—an easy and meaningful way to build community, serve neighbors, and be a visible presence of care right where you live. Contact the church office to join the team.
