Sequoyah Hills Presbyterian Church is constantly renewed by the gifts and energies of new people who are seeking a strong spiritual foundation and a vitality that comes from faith in Jesus Christ. Our church has been actively involved in Christ’s work in the greater Knoxville community and beyond for over 70 years. We are a family of open-minded disciples of God who desire to grow daily in our faith and reliance in Him, and ultimately want to make a difference in the world.
Membership
We welcome all persons who trust in God’s grace in Jesus Christ and desire to become part of the fellowship and ministry of His Church. We hope that you will become a part of our church family and join us on our journey of faith in Christ. An Inquirers Gathering is offered several times throughout the year as well as other activities specifically designed to encourage seekers or newcomers to be able to assimilate into this congregation and family of faith.
At the bottom of the Visitors page you will find two buttons: “I Might be Interested in Joining SHPC” – a brochure about membership; “I Am Ready to Join SHPC!” – a new member information form.
What Should I Expect When I Come to Sequoyah Church?
We invite you to worship with us every Sunday at 8:45am and 11:00am. Our early service is more casual and outside on the front lawn, weather permitting–bring your lawn chairs! In case of rain, we’ll be inside our fellowship hall (Barron Hall). Our 11:00 service in the sanctuary is led by our wonderful choir.
What Should I Wear?
Come as you are! We believe that what we wear should have more to do with how we approach God reverently and humbly in worship, not with what others think. On Sunday mornings, you will see everything from casual clothing to a suit and tie.
